The Taurasi, often referred to as the Barolo of the south for its structure and complexity, is a red wine made with Aglianico grapes grown in the DOCG area surrounding the village of Taurasi, from which it takes its name, in the province of Avellino, Campania. The Taurasi, is another little known red wine even for Italians due to its limited production .

The Taurasi riserva is a wine only made in the best vintages, and only from the oldest vines, and it is aged for a minimum of 4 years, of at least one in wood, the Taurasi only need 3.

This Taurasi riserva is big, bold, rich, with an impressive and complex nose with plenty of spices. On the palate is elegant, with firm tannins, lively, to be enjoyed on its own, or with very rich dishes such as game, truffles and very mature cheeses.
