Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Fosso Cancelli, Ciavolich

Fosso Cancelli is a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo on its own. When I first tasted it, it was its first released, I was just given a glass and asked to taste. The wine was fruity, fresh, smooth, a beautiful wine. When I was actually told that it was a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2007 fermented and aged in concrete, I could not believe it, the wine was amazingly young. Because of its complexity in the wine making process only about 1000 bottles are made each vintage and when the vintage allows.

This is a wine for connoisseurs, is a wine that require care, that need opening hours before, even a day. The nose is complex, very young, fresh, fruity, on the palate the wine is lively, fruity, smooth, with a very long aftertaste.

This is a meditation wine or a wine to enjoy with very mature cheeses.
